Innovation never stops here at DataRemote, and our R&D team is thrilled to report significant milestones on our latest unannounced project.

For the past few weeks, we've moved beyond the drawing board and into the physical realm. We officially have prototype hardware in hand, and it's incredible to see our concepts become something tangible.

Where are we right now?

The Hardware: Physical prototypes are fully assembled and looking sharp.

The Software: Our companion beta software is up and running, allowing us to interact with the device in real-time.

The Testing: The unit is currently locked in the lab undergoing intensive stress tests and performance tuning.

Next-Gen Connectivity: The 90X Series Taps into Direct-to-Cellular Satellite Networks

At DataRemote Inc. (DRI), we are always looking for ways to push the technical limits of our hardware and keep your critical operations online. Today, we are thrilled to highlight a next-generation capability for our 90X1 and 90X2 enterprise devices: Direct-to-Cellular (D2C) Satellite connectivity.

As D2C technology rapidly evolves, we’ve confirmed that the globally supported hardware powering our 90X series works seamlessly with Starlink’s D2C network. By simply ensuring the device is operating in LTE mode, our routers can automatically tap into satellite connections when traditional cell towers are compromised or completely out of reach.

The Ultimate "Last Resort" This capability isn't designed to replace your primary high-speed connection. Instead, it serves as the ultimate fallback, guaranteeing that your most critical systems stay online during emergencies or in ultra-remote locations.

The Tech Specs at a Glance:

🌍 Coverage: Utilizes Band 25 on T-Mobile's T-Satellite (US)*, Band 2 with Rogers (Canada), and various other bands globally.

⚡ Performance: Delivers 1 to 4 Mbps throughput—ideal for keeping critical telemetry, out-of-band management, and essential alerts flowing.

💬 Capabilities: Supports SMS and Data routing.

Note for US deployments: T-Mobile TSAT/D2C is currently approved on a use-case basis or requires a specific account flag in the DICE portal.

Modem Data Solution — Out-of-Band Management over IP

The Challenge: POTS Lines Are Going Away

Traditional analog telephone lines (POTS) have been the backbone of out-of-band (OOB) network management for decades. IT administrators rely on dial-up modems connected to console ports of routers, switches, firewalls, and servers to reach critical infrastructure when the primary WAN or internet connection is down. With the accelerating retirement of copper POTS lines across the country, organizations face a critical question: how do you maintain reliable OOB management without a landline?

The DataRemote Answer: POTS IN A BOX®

DataRemote’s POTS IN A BOX (PIAB) replaces the legacy POTS line with a cellular (LTE/5G) or Ethernet WAN connection — transparently. A dial-up modem connected to the PIAB’s FXS port behaves exactly as it did on a copper line. The administrator dials the PIAB’s assigned phone number from any location, and the modem connection is established end-to-end — even when the site’s primary network is completely offline.
